About Ashley
I grew up in Cedar, MI and now live right between Glen Arbor and Empire, MI. I work from home in my ceramic studio.
Long ago, while working on my elementary teaching degree from Aquinas College, my ceramics professor asked me to consider an Art Teacher degree, but sadly I thought he must be completely bananas to think I could make & teach art! Soon I graduated with a teaching degree in Elementary Education and went on to earn my Masters in Montessori Education.
Ironically, after 20+ years of teaching and working with students of all ages and in a variety of settings, here I am...making art…and guiding and encouraging creative + instinctive exploration with clay with anyone who feels curious to try something new.
I do spend a lot of my days in my studio. But just as often I can be found on the soul replenishing lakeshore with my family and friends. Walking, dipping, noticing, gathering, chatting and restoring.
In-person Workshops
I am always happy to have people over to explore with clay! I often welcome groups of 2-8 people of all ages. I am bursting with project ideas, although I’m also thrilled when someone has an idea in mind.
The options are really endless when it comes to working with clay!
Go ahead and send me an email! Let’s book a time for you to explore.
